Sick of seeing post it notes all over your desk?
There is free software called “Stickies” which is an electronic note that sits on your pc desktop.
Stickies will not mess with your system files, it stores information in a single text-based ini file.
I’ve been using stickies for the past few months and it’s a great organising tool.
To find out more information and to download visit: http://www.zhornsoftware.co.uk/stickies/download.html

Are you responsible for ensuring that your childcare service has everything insured including the property, staff, volunteers and directors?
To assist childcare services, Altiora Childcare has compiled a quick tick checklist of the possible insurance covers that your childcare service may need. (see attached file)
Altiora have included what they consider are the most likely types of insurance policies relevant to childcare services, the checklist is not exhaustive and may not take into account the unique aspects of your childcare service.
Altiora Childcare has more than 20 years experience working with the childcare sector. If you would like to work with an experienced and dedicated insurance partner that shares your passion for childcare, contact the childcare insurance team on Tel: (02) 8913 1740 or website: http://www.altiorachildcare.com.au/

Thank you to everyone who responded to my email regarding outstanding fees.
One of our members passed on information on Centrepay, which is offered through Centrelink as a free service.
This may be the answer to your outstanding fee problem, it was advised from a member who uses this service
“most parents find the Centrepay option suits them as they don’t have to remember to pay another bill as it is automatically deducted from a chosen Centrelink payment, at their chosen amount”.
Click on the following link for more information on Centrepay : http://www.centrelink.gov.au/internet/internet.nsf/businesses/employ_cpay.htm

For some employers who pay wages on a fortnightly basis, can have 27 pay days for the year instead of 26 and those that pay on a weekly basis can have 53 pay days for the year instead of 52.
If this is the case, the Taxation Office encourages you to inform your employees and provide for them, to request for additional amounts to be withheld.
The difference between the extra pay day can mean your employees who were expecting a small tax refund, may end up owing the Taxation Office money.
Further information and examples can be located at the following ATO Link: http://www.ato.gov.au/businesses/content.asp?doc=/content/45335.htm
